Hénin & Co.: 12 Solid Silver Oyster Forks With A Shell-pattern Design. Aubert In Nantes
An elegant set of twelve solid silver oyster forks.
The forks feature the superb and timeless “net shell” design.
They come in a dealer’s case inscribed “Armand Aubert // Joaillier // 5 rue Boileau // Nantes,” a famous Nantes jeweler that sadly closed its doors in 2025 after 180 years in business.
Each piece is hallmarked:
. Minerve 1st standard (pre-1973) for 950/°° silver
. Silversmith’s hallmark: H & Cie with a rose branch and a star for Hénin et Compagnie, active from 1872 to 1974
Hénin et Compagnie was a subcontractor for Odiot, just like other prestigious silversmiths such as Granvigne and Puiforcat—a testament to the quality of this silversmith’s work.
These forks are of very fine quality and particularly heavy for this type of cutlery.
