Elegant tablecloth made of velvet printed with arum flowers, dating from the Belle Époque. Made of fairly thick cotton velvet, with a burgundy-red central medallion. Large printed bouquet of arum lilies with broad leaves. The border features a printed design of undulating stems laden with large leaves and flowers, in Art Nouveau hues of ochre yellow, orange, soft green, and green. The Arum plant motif is a recurring theme among Art Nouveau artists. Cream-colored knotted wool fringes on all four sides and French manufacturer’s numbers at one corner on the reverse. A remarkable piece for the quality of its colors. No stains or holes. Very good condition in terms of color and preservation.
