18th century Ottoman Empire Rich crimson red velvet panne hanging embroidered with gold thread, probably an old ceremonial dress from the 18th century. Bumpy embroidery of gold thread with a cardboard core. Decor with large floral sprays and illuminations in profusion and vases in blue silk and tassels of trimmings (uncommon) embroidered with gold curled bobbins. Lining and later border in bronze taffeta with wall ties. Patina of use of the velvet and some pulled threads. However, this very rare hanging is in good structural and stable condition. Dimensions: 162cm x 153cm.
