18th Century - Siena (piccolomini Family) - Triangular Table Made Of Inlaid Cherry Wood
A splendid triangular Sienese table made of solid cherry wood, inlaid with olive wood featuring crescent motifs bearing the coat of arms of the Piccolomini family, from whom the piece originates.
Dating from the 18th century, it features three legs ending in goat’s-foot feet, all completely hand-carved with exceptional skill.
The tabletop has a repaired crack.
One of the three legs, following a break, has been reinforced with a joining pin.
The numerous woodworm holes do not compromise the piece’s structural integrity.
