Cockatoo - Vienna Bronze, Late 19th Century, Atelier Bergmann
Very fine and important Wiener bronze cold-painted depicting a crested cockatoo perched on a branch.
This sculpture bears witness to the expertise of late 19th-century Viennese workshops, renowned for the quality of their chasing and the richness of their polychromy. The yellow and white plumage is treated with great precision, offering a remarkable interplay of textures and nuances, while the bird's posture and the expression of its gaze give it a particularly lively presence.
The piece bears the stamp "B" in an amphora, a mark of the workshop of Franz Xavier Bergmann, as well as the words "Geschützt" and a model number.
Austrian work from the late 19th century.
Very good overall condition. Some slight wear to the polychromy, notably a small lack of color at the beak, without affecting the quality of presentation of the work. Very good preservation of the original patina and colors.
