Cannetille And Gold Graineti Earrings, French Work Between 1819-1838

Pair of 18k gold openwork earrings, finely worked in graineti and cannetille.
Dormeuse system for pierced ears (threading through the back of the lobe).
The two elements of each loop are dissociable.

This jewel is a delicate testament to early 19th-century French jewelry, where the delicacy of the decoration and the virtuosity of the goldwork are given pride of place.

French workmanship, 1819-1838. Ram's head hallmark.
Weight: 5 g.
Very good overall condition, some minor deformations.

To be compared with the models preserved at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, from the Henri Vever donation (1924), testifying to the refined aesthetics of early 19th-century Romantic jewelry.
