"rambouillet" Dinner Service For 18 People With Soup Tureens - Jean Bertholle For Gien

Inspired by the world of hunting and the forest, the decoration features a variety of animal scenes including stags, deer, wild boar, pheasants, ducks, hares and other game, in a rich palette of autumnal tones.

This 24-piece service for 18 people comprises:

• 18 dinner plates, divided into six different designs, with three plates of each motif 
• 4 large serving dishes: two decorated with deer, one with a stag and one with a wild boar
• 2 covered tureens decorated with birds

The pieces bear the marks of the Gien Manufactory on the reverse.

Created in the 1950s, the Rambouillet pattern is closely associated with the world of the Rambouillet hunts and is one of the manufactory’s most emblematic animal designs.

In very good overall condition.
Please note: a small chip to the reverse of one of the deer-decorated platters, not visible from the decorated side when displayed, as well as a few superficial scratches to the decoration of the same platter.
