Set of 19th century watercolors, both sides - Paris, Venice and  probably taken from a travel diary or album chronicling a grandtour of Europe. Each watercolor features two detailed views - four in all - painted infour in all - painted in watercolor with a preparatory graphite drawingand framed with their original hand-painted black borders.hand-painted black borders.One sheet presents a romantic winter scene in the Bois de Boulogne, where Parisians skate beneath snow-covered trees, while the reverseoffers a striking view of the Paris Bourse, bustling with horse-drawn carriagesunder the neoclassical colonnade.

The second sheet captures a19th-century Paris square, dominated by the Tour Saint-Jacques,while the verso transports the viewer to Venice, where a steam boat steams past the Doge's Palace and the Campanile. This maritime scene combines the historic elegance of Venice with the dynamism industrial age. These are not prints or copies, but originaloriginal compositions of great finesse of execution: delicate,and rich in architectural and social detail.

The double-sided format and hand-painted borders confirm their origin originated in a portable sketchbook, probably intended for personalpersonal reflection or presentation.
