French Art Nouveau Silver-plated Crumb Tray Set By Victor Saglier
Superb French Art Nouveau set consisting of a crumb-collecting brush and its shovel, made in silvered metal by Victor Saglier.
Brush length: 34 cm
Scoop width: 22 cm
This handsome Art Nouveau table set, crafted in silver-plated metal, is an elegant example of the period's iconic design. Victor Saglier, a famous French silversmith active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is renowned for his refined creations in silverware and decorative objects.
The set is in excellent overall condition, with approximately 95% of the original silver plating preserved. It shows only a few minor age-related marks, which add to the piece's charm and character.
The brush is trimmed with horsehair, perfect for gently sweeping up crumbs, while the scoop is carefully designed to collect them. Both elements are beautifully decorated with embossed tulips and flowing stems, perfectly illustrating the Art Nouveau spirit, with its taste for natural shapes, curved lines and plant motifs.
The delicate, harmonious repoussé floral decoration is a testament to Victor Saglier's great attention to detail and craftsmanship.
This set is both decorative and functional. It will make a fine addition to a collection of antique silverware, Art Nouveau objects, or can be presented as an original decorative piece in an elegant interior.
