Original 19th-century French Still Life Signed P. Seguin, 1886

Very beautiful and elegant 19th-century French still life, painted in oil on canvas, signed P. Seguin and dated 1886.

This large peach still life is a fine example of late 19th-century French academic realism. The richly textured composition features a silver bowl overflowing with velvety peaches and dark grapes, accompanied by a dark glass decanter and a delicate porcelain plate with a cut peach.

The artist's talent in the treatment of light is particularly noticeable in the reflections of the glass and the soft, diffused glow cast over the fruit.
