Sarreguemines, Lavallière Decor, 3 Dessert Plates
Sarreguemines, set of 3 dessert plates decorated of chrysanthemums, roses, vine leaves, periwinkle and lace, on a form known as "Papier épinglé" at the faience factory.
This particular form, which was only enhanced with the decors"Lavallière", "Sujets" (Froment Richard), "fleursLouis XV", is characterized by paper folds pinned in trompe-l'oeil.
Note the square shape with cut sides of these plates.
This marriage of form and decoration makes this one of the most elaborateof the rich tableware production in Sarreguemines.
