Sarreguemines, Ranieri, Saint-maurice, Terracotta, Art Nouveau, Bust
Artist: Ranieri
This rare terracotta bust with a beige patina or slip was produced in the workshops that the Utzschneider & Co. group (Sarreguemines) acquired in Saint-Maurice at the beginning of the 20th century.
Very few pieces from this factory are known to exist.
They bear the "L'Art français" stamp.
Several different creations by Aristide De Ranieri but also by Coudray, Drouot, Bruyas... can be found within this production.
Trademarks.
Signed A. De Ranieri.
Condition: No cracks, chips, or restorations.
Very slight wear to the patina and a tiny loss.
Height - 55 cm.
Width - 36 cm.
Early 20th century.
A catalogue lists 189 pieces of this production, essentially busts and statuettes but also groups and vases.
It should be noted that the bust we present is missing from this publication, as well as a bust of Bruyas no 426, 'La femme aux marrons', which we had come across a few years ago.
