Sarreguemines, "man" milk jug in Parian representing a pot-bellied and laughing character.
The parian, a highly vitrified porcelain biscuit which takes its name from its great resemblance to the marble of the island of Paros, was made at the Sarreguemines earthenware factory from 1855.
Stamp with an eagle in relief.
This piece, which bears the number 14 in hollow (shape number), is listed as "dairy" in the catalogs of the pottery.
Height - 11.5 cm
Condition - no chips, no cracks, no restoration.
