18th Century Silver Perfume Bottle And Pomander
Eighteenth-century (circa 1770) silver perfume bottle and pomander, probably of French origin, in a form inspired by pilgrim flasks, with suspension ring and chains. Two removable openwork circular panels reveal a compartment for the pomander, one lined with ruby glass. Both panels are decorated with masks and birds among foliage. The body is finely engraved with scrolls and foliage. The foot is a simple sigillier and the stopper is surmounted by a dancing figure. Height: 9.7 cm.
Condition: Excellent. In perfect condition. Minimal wear.
