Édouard Richard was a French painter born in Saint-Quentin on November 16, 1883 and died in the same town on November 13, 1955.
Édouard Richard belonged to the Postimpressionist movement. He is best known for his landscapes, seascapes and market scenes. He regularly set up his easel in Brittany and Normandy. His studio was located in Colombes at 188, rue des Aubépines.
He studied with Pierre Louis Emmanuel Croizé (who was Henri Matisse's teacher in Saint-Quentin) and Jules Alex Patrouillard Degrave. In 1928 he became a member of the Société des artistes français.
