"Hippolyte Lety (1878-1959) Tour Le Bel Villeneuve Les Avignon. Provence, Isère, Vienne, Vidal.."
Superb oil on panel by Hippolyte Lety representing the church and the Philippe Le Bel tower in Villeneuve les Avignon, signed lower right + located on the back. Size of the painting alone without frame 26x36cm and 35.5x45.5cm including frame. This is indeed a very beautiful post-impressionist composition by Hippolyte Léty who paints here the emblematic Philippe Le Bel Tower in Villeneuve les Avignon, but he paints it from a rather little-used point of view, where we also see the church and the entrance to the canal on the banks of the Rhone. He uses his usual touch as well as his palette, and he gives thanks to this a superb light so typical of Provence. Very very beautiful achievement by this very beautiful French artist.
