So this is a magnificent enamel-on-copper vase by Camille Fauré in Limoges, it features a very pretty Art Deco stylized flower de "cor, superb silver paillon work with strong reliefs. The palette of enamels used is extremely rich: blues, yellows, oranges, greens, reds... on a bottle-green background. This vase has its original silver-plated metal rings.
I no longer need to introduce Camille Fauré, the famous Limousin entrepreneur and precursor of the revival of Limousin enameling alongside the likes of Marty, Bonnaud, Sarlandie, Soubourou, Jouhaud etc..
Camille Raymond Fauré was a French enamel artist, born November 16, 1874 in Périgueux and died October 7, 1956 in Limoges. He is best known for his work designing enamels for companies manufacturing Limoges porcelain. Floral and figurative motifs in richly enameled colors are his signature.
In 1919, he exhibited at the Foire de Lyon. Later, he also participated in the Foire de Paris. These two events give his 20 employees enough work for the whole year. In 1919, he formed a notable partnership with Alexandre Marty(1876-1943). This collaboration led to innovation in the field of enamellingenameling, with the development of new enamel production methodsenamels, in particular flamed and frosted enamels. Under the Fauré et Marty" brand, they design and exhibit a variety of pieces,including a limited series of enamelled gold, silver and copper pendants.enamel. In 1925, Fauré set up his own business in Limoges. He employedfive enamellers: Lucie Dadat, Pierre Bardy, Louis Valade, MarcelleDecouty-Védrenne and Jeanne Soubourou.
