"Suzanne Dinkès Or Dinkespiler (1895-1984) "venice". School Of Paris, Friend Of Loutreuil And Mavro"
Beautiful oil on plywood panel by Suzanne Dinkès representing a view of Venice, signed lower right.Panel size 40.5x50cmThis is a new work by Suzanne Dinkès, after a series of 6 paintings sold a few months ago also representing views of Venice. This time it is a larger painting, the treatment is of course the same, typical of the artist with his powerful brushstrokes and his palette made of shades of beige/sand, bottle green, blues, ochre or gray. The painter also likes to play with the support by leaving reserves, in short work typical of the Paris school of which she is a part alongside her friends, Loutreuil, Mavro, Kikoïne, Krémègne, Soutine etc...Born in Paris, she became a student of Humbert, then exhibited from 1920 at the Salon d'Automne at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Salon des Artistes Français. She will therefore be the faithful friend of Mania Mavro (Crozant school) with whom she will paint on the same motifs, especially in the south of France. She will also travel to Spain, Italy, notably to Venice, from where she will bring back many works. He will also produce superb genre scenes as well as numerous portraits. She will meet Maurice Loutreuil in 1919, they will have a short affair, to the great despair of Loutreuil who then believed he had met the woman of his life; however, they will continue to see each other and paint together, notably during a trip to Spain. This painting on plywood panel is in very good condition, some irregularities in the original panel. Delivered without a frame, guaranteed authentic
