Engraved brass snuffbox or tinderbox with floral and foliate decoration, accompanied by a Cupid holding a flower in his hand.
The box itself represents a trompe l'oeil of a book, the interior is tin-plated.
The lid rests on a pewter-soldered hinge.
Similar model in the D'Allemagne collection, as well as in the collections of the Musée le Secq Des Tournelles.
Very good condition, slight dents from use.
