Constellation VII

Artist: Claude Agier Mollinari

Here is a ceramic box by Claude Agier Molinari, a French artist and active member of Ateliers d'Art de France. Her work is recognized for the singularity and diversity of its forms, as well as for the richness and bewitching character of its visually intense glazes.
The shape of this piece is distinguished by a base that breaks with any idea of stability. The box never seems to rest entirely on the surface, creating a subtle effect of controlled imbalance, as if in suspension. The staggered volumes accentuate this sense of tension between mass and lightness, immobility and movement.
A textured outer surface reveals a mineral, almost volcanic aspect, while the enameled interior in shades of blue-turquoise evokes an abstract landscape. This alliance of raw material and softness fascinates the eye.
The fitted lid is adorned with engraved decoration inspired by cuneiform script, characteristic of the artist's universe.
