Superb Turkmen Yomud saddle rug.
Woven and knotted wool on wool.
The velvet is rather short, which is always the case for this type of piece.
The hues are exclusively vegetal and the indigo blue has aquatic reflections in places. The brown background also offers magnificent reflections, depending on the light. These effects are due to the remarkable quality of the wool.
On the back of the piece, one can observe and appreciate the extreme regularity of the knotted stitch. The piece is in perfect, impeccable condition.
At one end, we can see the ring system that was used to tie the rug to the horse.
Beautiful collector's item, ideal perhaps for a bedside rug, an entranceway or anything else.
