Kilim Sivas. Anatolia. Circa 1930. 270 X 160 Cm
Composed of four niches, this moving kilim originates from the Sivas region of Anatolia. Woven in the traditional wool-on-wool style, the weave is extremely tight and fine, making the piece supple and surprisingly lightweight. Most of the motifs are surface-embroidered. An ultra-elegant piece, it is remarkably soft to the eye with a beautiful harmony of colors. The depth of the red fields is particularly striking, enhanced by orange and yellow tones accompanied by natural brown bands. Circa 1930. In very good condition, with a stop stitch at each end. Dimensions: 270 x 160 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
