. Rare Obruk prayer rug, known as Obruk - Kilim from the Konya region, knotted by the women of a group of the Yürük tribe, settled in Turkey.
These rugs are little known, often confused because of their colors, approaching Kir-sehir and Moudjour for knotted rugs # For kilims the colors are different with an olive green niche. The technique adopts "the slit technique" found on Senneh kilims, also a source of confusion to classify this genre. The warp is wool. The weft-pattern is also in wool Carpet from the first part of the 20th century around 1930 - 1950. The triple border still includes enigmatic elements, which only these populations know, accompanied by numerous stylized flowers, crosses, as well as stars of Medes , eight-pointed stars symbolizing King Solomon's ring. The warm colors dress up this rarest piece magnificently, olive green, camel, black, curry, orange... The wool is fluid, in fact soft rugs, the very good quality wool comes mainly from the breeding of sheep of these tribes. If ancient pieces from Asia Minor have been preserved for us in such remarkable condition, it is no doubt thanks to the quality of the wools or silks used, and their dense weaving, but also because they have no been held only by pious hands, as those who tied them were pious. These rooms were only used for prayer and were put away afterwards. Our model with a beautiful olive green niche is in very good condition, typical of this very rare production, the fringes and edges in superb condition. Note the change of green wool in the niche, a change made during weaving. Obruk, a small village in Turkey, is known for its very original carpets and kilims qualified as extraordinary, as well as its leaning minaret. .Dimensions: width: 96 cm (38") x length: 136 cm (53") This rug can be used as a decorative element on the floor, but given its great beauty, it can also be placed as a decoration on a wall . ## We have in our collection around fifty prayer rugs from the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century, do not hesitate to contact us.
