Kayseri rug in hand-knotted wool, originating from Turkey in the Kayseri region.
This rug with medallion and floral decoration, measures 170 cm wide by 236 cm long.
An important decoration of a floral rosette takes up the style found on the sumptuous Iranian Tafresh.
Note the quality of the design and the rigor shown by the knotter in the execution of this piece.
The medallion accompanied by two pendants and sixteen floral endings.
## Knotted around 1970-1980, in perfect condition, velvet, fringes and selvedges.
The velvet of the Kayseri is always short and the inspiration for these rugs comes from old Persian rugs, particularly Tabriz. Surprisingly, in Tabriz, silk carpets are knotted that have the influence of Kayseri carpets.
These exchanges of designs are due to the commercial and cultural contacts and exchanges that these two cities have between them. These exceptional carpets with delicate patterns are inspired by nature.
They are decorated with interlacing plants, in pastel shades often highlighted by midnight blue or cardinal red, our model. Kayseri carpets are found in all dimensions knotted in wool or silk.
These are carpets of great density, finely knotted in high quality wools.
They allow a large passage.
