Three Pairs Of Green Wool Trimmed Curtain Tiebacks - Second Empire, Circa 1860
Circa 1860 or earlier, France. Five beautiful pairs of tiebacks for three pairs of curtains with green and yellow wool passementerie tassels dating from the Second Empire. Remarkable 19th-century French passementerie work, particularly in the tassel design. Long drawstrings. Some pulled threads and otherwise in good condition except for one pair with a broken wooden slider (which needs to be glued back on) and one pair without a slider (see last photo). Dimensions: Tassel fringe height 11 cm, total height of each tassel 21 cm, drawstring length approximately 60 cm.
