"Louis XIV/regency Period Crossbow-shaped Commode, Circa 1700, Early 18th Century"
An imposing Louis XIV/Early Regency commode, circa 1700. It features a superb, ornate, bow-fronted design and paneled sides. The commode is constructed of a solid walnut frame and has three drawers in the front. The two upper drawers have antique locks, while the bottom drawer has no lock. We do not have the key to this piece. It has beautiful bronze handles decorated with male and female figures. The commode is in very good condition, having undergone minor restorations. Some signs of wear and woodworm holes (long since abandoned!) are present. A dark stain is visible on one side of the commode. This magnificent piece, with its luminous patina, retains its original character perfectly.
