Mahogany Secretary Desk With Marquetry, Arch-motif Decoration, Charles X Period

A superb period Charles X secretary desk, circa 1825, made of flamed mahogany, maple, rosewood, and other precious woods.
The front of our secretary desk is entirely covered in a luminous maple veneer and adorned with a very delicate design of Gothic arches.
The leather desk pad has been recently reupholstered. Anthracite in color, it is decorated with a frieze and a central cartouche gilded with fine engraving.
The lower section of this piece features three drawers. The entire lower section is covered in maple veneer, and the drawer knobs are made of mahogany.
This writing desk is topped with a gray marble slab veined with white.
It comes with a key that operates all three locks.
A highly elegant piece of furniture in superb condition. There are a few signs of use and minor wear to note (small cracks in the veneer). We also note some discreet side cracks, which are inevitable on this type of piece; they are not visible in the photos.
