"Pair Of Bronze Andirons With Putti In The Louis XV Style - 19th Century"
A pair of bronze andirons with a beautiful patina, highly decorative, featuring putti/cherubs seated on bases adorned with foliage. The putti are very expressive, well-modeled, with generous, almost theatrical rocaille scrolls and a masterful symmetry, making them very decorative. They are 19th-century pieces, most likely from the reign of Napoleon III (circa 1850), in the Louis XV/rocaille style, with their large, asymmetrical scrolls that were used to support logs, reflecting the historicist style of the 18th century. The modeling of the figures and the richness of the scrolls suggest meticulous craftsmanship and exquisite workmanship. These andirons come with their irons. They can therefore be used in the fireplace or simply displayed as decorative sculptures.
