19th century Thread Clock Painting, rare for its square shape in gilded and painted wood. In the middle of a mountain lake scene with a village, probably Swiss in the background, the large dial of the clock, thread movement. The frame is made of wood and gilded stucco. A protective glass pane has preserved the object. The colors and gilding are very fresh - Charles X period around 1830.
