Boch Frères Keramis Vase – La Louvière, Belgium, "olga" Floral Model By Charles Catteau, 1925.
Artist: Bock La Louvière, Décor Charles Catteau
Boch Frères Keramis vase – La Louvière, Belgium; "Olga D.788" floral pattern by Charles Catteau, circa 1925–1930. It bears the cobalt blue stamp used from 1920 onwards, along with the handwritten inscription "Olga D.788." The small handwritten "2" to the right is the painter's mark. "Olga" is one of the most famous designs by Charles Catteau (1880–1966), the artistic director at Boch in La Louvière. It features a fine earthenware body with a crackle glaze, hand-painted in polychrome enamels outlined in black—specifically featuring luminous yellow, acid green, and pinks with orange centers. The D.788 model was produced in various sizes; this version, featuring handles, is the amphora or "eared vase" style.
