19th-century bronze ember/log tongs.Engraved ring handle, very substantial appearance; the thick tongs are connected by a pivot mechanism (see last photo).
Length: 42 cm
Weight: 839 grams
There is some lateral play (see detail in photo); I don't know if this is intentional or due to natural wear.
The blackened lower section is also bronze and has been left as is to preserve the patina.
