A 19cm high black felt body, covered by a 24cm diameter waxed black cowhide leather cap folded down over the felt. A waxed black leather strap is sewn to the bottom of the felt, and at the back there is a buckle with a prong, and below this buckle is a leather gusset. Round visor in black patent leather with a folded tinplate band over the outer edge. A diamond-shaped plate on the front, 11 cm high and 10 cm wide, made of tinplate (with some wear), is embossed with a crowned imperial eagle holding a hunting horn in its talons, and the number "6" is cut out at the bottom. A tricolor lacquered leather cockade, 6.5 cm in diameter, has a leather pocket for a green pompom. Leather chin straps with brass buckles and prongs (Model 1801). The tinplate chin straps feature a hunting horn rosette and 15 scalloped tinplate scales. The interior lining consists of a 6 cm black sheepskin band with some damage and missing pieces, surmounted by an approximately 8 cm beige canvas lining.
