"Napoleon III Claw Brooch, Pearls, Gold And Silver"
This beautiful and unusual piece of jewelry features a large feline claw mounted in a silver setting adorned with applied gold scrolls and set with a rectangular green stone (peridot or beryl). It is crowned with a gold gallery of seven baroque pearls on stems.
The pin has a tube hinge and a C-shaped clasp (an older replacement), and a white metal pin, all in perfect working order.
It shows patina and wear consistent with its age.
Unmarked, but tested with a touchstone: 18-karat silver and gold.
