A Lovely Pair Of Louis XVI Period Cabriolet Chairs In Grey Painted Wood
A charming pair of Louis XVI period cabriolet chairs in gray-painted wood. The trapezoidal back, flanked by two detached fluted columns, is crowned by a carved acanthus leaf stretcher, a motif repeated at the base of the back and on the seat rail, and topped with gadroons. The seat has a curved front rail with a projecting edge. The legs are tapered and fluted, with a rosette at the joint and aligned with the back columns. Parisian work from the late 18th century. Upholstered in red velvet. Good overall condition.
