A beautiful mahogany console table with a drawer in the frieze, stamped Kolping on each front upright. These uprights are scroll-shaped, carved at the top with palmettes, and terminate in claw feet. It has a blue Turquin marble top. The mercury mirror, probably original, was later backed with plywood for protection. The drawer bottom and back have been replaced. In good condition, despite a few chips. Usual restorations. Othon Kolping (1775-1853), established in 1804, became one of the most celebrated cabinetmakers during the Restoration period.
