"Gondola-shaped Bergère Chair From The Louis XV-louis XVI Transition Period, Stamped L.-h. Delion"
Stamped Louis-Hyacinthe Delion (1721-1793), a comfortable gondola-shaped bergère in molded and carved beechwood. Transitional period between Louis XV and Louis XVI. In used condition. Although he became a master craftsman in 1766, he is primarily known for his attractive Louis XV chairs, sometimes signed jointly with renowned designers such as Jean-Baptiste Gourdin, Denis Julienne, and Georges Jacob. Here, the heart-shaped clasps on the seat rail and back, similar to those used by Tilliard, are still Louis XV, while the chair's structure is already Louis XVI.
