Clock Art Deco With Feline By T. Cartier
A very fine early 20th century Art Deco clock from the circa 1910
period, stamped on the marble base "T. Cartier" for Thomas Cartier
(1879-1943), a specialist in animal sculpture.
An imposing silver-plated regulated metal sculpture of a roaring feline rests on a bumpy marble surface of various shades with a smooth and shiny surface. The dial features a gilded background and silver-plated bezels.
Original, unmodified mechanism. Striking on the hours and half-hours on an antique bell.
