Large pewter wine pitcher, baluster-shaped with a short foot, faceted spout, raised lid, and seven-spoked shell thumb rest, fitted with a stepped handle and foliate thumb rest.
Hallmarked by Marcel Jean Walravens, received as a master in 1772:
1° - crowned rose / MW
2° - Saint Michael with a shield slaying the dragon / MW
Height: 26.5 cm.
Brussels, last quarter of the 18th century.
In good condition with a beautiful, dark, lustrous patina. This pitcher has never been cleaned.
