**************

Pewter dish with a wide wing called "à la cardinal" engraved on the wing with cartouches, flowers and foliage scrolls and a mention in Hebrew characters.
City hallmark "à la rose" in a shield
Hallmark of Georgius GÖPPEL received master in 1655: ewer / GG
Diameter: 31.4 cm.
ROSENHEIM (Upper Bavaria), Second half of the 17th century

In good condition, superficial stains are reported.
Note that the master hallmark was badly struck a first time, then re-struck by mistake at 90°; we therefore note the presence of three G instead of two, a fourth being overlapped by the second strike.
This master is cited by Erwin HINTZE in "Die Deutschen Zinngiesser und ihre Marken" T6, Ref1168.
