Large ROUND pewter PLATE with a smooth, raised rim, engraved in the center with a crowned coat of arms featuring a tower, flanked by a lion on the left and a horse on the right,along with a castle and two areas of ermine-speckled patterns,accompanied by the motto “AVANCEZ”.On the rim, a round cartouche bearing the letter H encircled by the motto “Honi (sic) soit qui mal y pense,” alluding to Edward III, Henry VII, and the Order of the Garter.
Hallmarks:
1° - crowned X mark.
2° - hallmark of James KIDD, active in Liverpool and London, recorded in 1768 and 1769.
Diameter: 42.2 cm.

The technical universities of Gothenburg, Lund, and Stockholm were founded in 1829 thanks to donations from William Chalmers, a wealthy merchant from Gothenburg, whose motto was “Forward.”
A few cracks at the junction of the wing and the stem are noted, as well as general oxidation
