"17th Century Cast Iron Fireplace Plate Decorated With Attributes"
Superb and rare early 17th-century cast iron fireplace plaque. This plaque, with its scalloped edge, is adorned with decorative motifs such as the caduceus, a spear, a ram's head flag, an eagle, musical instruments, and, at the top, a mask with a spout. On either side of the upper section are faun heads and a floral scroll, which is also found at the bottom. The center is decorated with a coat of arms featuring geometric shapes. A work of superb quality, rare with this decoration, and in excellent condition for its age.
