Fireplace Plate With Phoenix Decoration, 17th Century (101x83 Cm)
Renaissance style fireback, with phoenix decoration, cast in the 17th century, symbol of eternity and regeneration, the phoenix on its pyre comes back to life, hence its motto "FLAMES ARE FLOWERS OR I TAKE MY LIFE BACK", its background is decorated with scrolls and a frieze of rudenté channels frames it.
