Large 17th-century cast iron fireplace plate, decorated with a cross in the center, a coat of arms of France in the upper right, a saltire coat of arms in the upper left, two Seals of Solomon below, in a frame at the foot of the cross "Praised be the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar", and in another frame at the bottom "D 16?4 R". Provenance: Northeast France. Dimensions: 1.065 x 1.065 m, thickness 6 cm. Heavy (very heavy!). Good condition.
