The flatware is plain silver-plated, with the spatulas engraved with a Regency-style design featuring interlacing foliage, shells, and scrolls forming cartouches on a matte background. The reverse of the cartouches is decorated with a trellis and floral motif; the front is blank.
Two pieces are hallmarked "Odiot" in full, along with the Boulenger hallmark: AB with three stars and a crescent moon within a rectangle.
The other pieces are hallmarked "Boulenger" in full and with a second hallmark: "Blanc // 50" for the silver plating on the flatware; "Blanc // 4" for the sauce spoon; and "Blanc // 8" for the serving utensil.
The Odiot and Boulenger companies merged in 1906, which explains the double hallmarking on these pieces.
These flatware sets are very elegant, thick, and well-made, as is always the case with these renowned silversmiths. The engraved decoration evokes the Grand Siècle (the 17th century) while maintaining a certain restraint.
