Vallauris Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, 1970s, Att Boris Kasianoff
A very beautiful handcrafted stoneware pitcher, hand-thrown and glazed in a majolica style with a milky white glaze that reveals the rust/dark brown ceramic beneath. It features floral motifs in dark blue, mint green, and blackish-brown. The attractive cylindrical body has a fluted, rounded neck, a handsome, solid handle, and a small spout. Vintage, in a style typical of the 1970s, this unsigned Vallauris production is attributable to Boris Kasianoff, in the style of the productions of Albert Thiry from the Mûrier workshop in Derval. It measures 21cm in height, 16cm in maximum length including the handle, and 11.5cm in maximum diameter. In very good condition, with a small, discreet glaze flaw on the base, under the handle, which is very likely original. Approximately 1.5 kg.
