Jacques Peiffer, born in 1947 in Mont-Saint-Martin and died in 2025, is a French sculptor and ceramist, originally from the agglomeration of Longwy, an emblematic city of earthenware. Self-taught and trained in arts, sciences and philosophy, he combined artistic creation and technical research. In 1978, he founded the Saint-Jean l'Aigle earthenware factory with his wife and developed innovative techniques such as digital imaging on ceramics. Awarded Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1986, he received several distinctions for his innovations. He also participated in the restoration of monuments and published works on the history of enamels. A defender of the arts and crafts, he plays an active role in promoting them on a national scale.
