Large White Earthenware Flowerpot With Faun Heads
Beautifully crafted earthenware with a cracked white glaze, typical of French and Italian productions from the 1930s/1950s. The modeling of the face is very precise, the handles forming horns and vine leaves curling on either side of the head. The symmetrical decoration evokes the spirit of Bacchus and the decorative arts of the 1930s/1950s. Good overall condition, glossy glaze with visible cracking patterns typical of age. Minor wear from use, no chips or cracks. The contrast between the two faces — male and female — symbolizes the duality of nature and the seasons.
