Charles (François Auguste) Labor(1813 - 1900) was a French painter born in Béziers into a family offamily of merchants. A pupil of Auguste-Barthélemy Glaize, he specialized in landscapelandscape painting. Very attached to his native region, he produced numerousviews of the Hérault and southern France. Alongside his artistic careerartistic career, he played an important role in local cultural life, becomingcurator of the Béziers Fine Arts Museum in 1859 and president of theSociété archéologique, scientifique et littéraire de la ville. He held theseuntil his death in 1900, and today lies in the old cemetery ofBéziers cemetery.
