Robert Delval, born in 1934 in Montmartre, grew up in an artistic universe, his mother creating Epinal images. At a very young age, he began to paint, trained by street artists, books and museums. At 25, he set off on an adventure, living from his painting in Europe and the United States, where his works quickly found buyers. He also spent a long time on the French Riviera. In 1970, his meeting with the gallery owner André Roussard marked the beginning of a long collaboration and international exhibitions. Inspired by Bonnard and Matisse, he developed a personal oeuvre based on the harmony of color and the power of composition. His paintings, both soft and vibrant, evoke a dreamlike dimension, abolishing time and logic. Delval continues to paint between Paris, the Vendée, and the far north.
