A brass surveying circle with six pinnules, two of which are mounted on a rotating alidade. The circle measures 15 cm in diameter. It is signed "Baradelle à Paris" and dates to around 1730-1750. The instrument is complete with its pinnules, ball joint, and hexagonal base. The circle is divided twice into 360 degrees. In the center, a compass indicates the four cardinal directions. The compass needle is modern, or at least from the 19th or early 20th century, with an agate and blued steel cap. The instrument is heavily soiled and requires cleaning. 15 cm in diameter and 15.5 cm in height.
